Bankstown Staff Style

Posted by Lauren - PR Coordinator - November 28, 2011 05:50

I rocked up to our Bankstown store yesterday to help them out for the day, and absolutely LOVED the outfit that our Sunday Manager, Keyla, was wearing. She really let her statement necklace do all the talking, whilst keeping it on trend with coloured jeans, and our beautiful "Sien" sandal by KO Fashion.

Wedding Bells!

Posted by Lauren - PR Coordinator - November 25, 2011 03:11

I'm heading to a wedding tomorrow (and I'm really hoping the weather clears up, as we have been experiencing almost torrential rain here in Sydney for the past few days!) and I thought I should save myself some money and wear an old dress. But then I thought, where is the fun in that?? Weddings are one of the only occasions where you can really dress up these days, and sometimes it's fun to be a little girly!

So I've got my tan on, my hair and makeup booked, and my outfit bought and planned (all items are brand new!):

Now that I have everything planned and under control, I can really look forward to enjoying the beautiful event tomorrow! I'm excited!

Summer [Holiday] Dreaming

Posted by Lauren - PR Coordinator - November 10, 2011 01:48

I just got back from a dream holiday to Thailand, and another of our office girls Megan is set to jet off tomorrow... I'm still in that dreamy holiday period where I'm reminiscing over all the experiences I had so I thought I'd share a few musings here with you all :)

Anyone who's been knows that Thailand is hot and smelly, but it is also beautiful, and the people are super friendly.  Fashion wise, it is uber casual. You can get around in a singlet, shorts and thongs most days, and the nights don't step up much from that!  I had brought one pair of humble Havaianas, as well as a choice of three dressy sandals (Sien by KO, Sergio by Diavolina and Polini by Jolie), and some enclosed shoes (for the jungle trekking!) I packed suuuppperrr light in case I shopped up a storm, I wanted to avoid those excess baggage charges! So my very basic wardrobe consisted of a singlet, t-shirt, some shirts, a skirt and a dress (and I bought a local beer singlet whilst there):

These basics got me through most of Thailand! I ended up with an extra dress and a white linen shirt-style cover up too, basic colours that could mix through with what I already had... I visited the most amazing places.

From Phuket I went out on a day trip to gorgeous mini island Koh Kai as well as Phang Nga ("James Bond Island") and saw some gorgeous sea caves and natural cliffs etc. I also got to do a canoe trip through the jungle, and an elephant trek up to some stone mountains - all the foliage was so green and beautiful! In Koh Samui I did some shopping and visited a wildlife park (where I got to hold a gorgeous baby tiger and pat a bigger adolescent tiger - sooooooo amazing!). Then it was back to Phuket to get a speedboat to Phi Phi Island - a hidden gem. I stayed right at the top of the island on a fairly private beach that looked out to Maya Bay (where "The Beach" was filmed) and a few other gorgeous islands for some snorkeling and boating...

The amazing resorts I stayed in:

I'm excited for the weather here to get as hot as it was there and for some more beach times... Ahhhhhhh Summer!

Parklife Options... What to Wear?

Posted by Lauren - PR Coordinator - September 28, 2011 02:04

For those of us checking out Parklife this long weekend (without an outfit yet) never fear! We have a great range of shoes perfect for the festival season:

BOOTS: Boots are no longer restricted just to winter, team these with a floaty dress or skirt - make sure you keep it feminine up top to avoid looking butch... (Styles Terri, Mackie and Deston).

JELLYS: Wet weather saviours - you can simply hose these off after wear and they are good as new!  Also the soft pastel colours are awesome for tan enhancement! Wear with denim and a tee for a simple, fun look. (Styles Resh, Vanila and Pilly).

TIE UP SANDALS: Flirty summer sandals that tie up as far the leg as you like. Love this style for a festival and then they can easily be used for a Summer holiday or a beach and evening cocktails expedition... (Styles Polini, Veeva and Koogle).

DETAILS: Whether it's a woven sandal, a crocheted ballet flat, or a studded sandal, we've got the details covered. These amazing styles would suit pretty much an festival outfit - get your inner fashionista working and create something amazing! (Styles Koosh, Amarci and Sergio)

One shoe, three ways

Posted by Lauren - PR Coordinator - September 23, 2011 02:05

When I bought my fabulous new pair of shoes ("Jenna" $449.95 from the Italian brand Dora by Mi Piaci) I had to justify the cost a little bit.  Emilie, our PR and Marketing Assistant, is kind of like the mother in our office and is constanty the voice of reason that we all choose to ignore at some point.  Her cries of "No Loz, you won't wear them - they are way too expensive for a one off wear!" (and she has a point, as I'd guess that around 30% of my shoe collection has never been worn outside of the house) were met with my stubborn insistence that yes, I would wear them, and no, I wouldn't only wear them around the house cleaning...

This week I decided to wear them everyday just to prove her wrong (however as we are only meant to wear fashion shoes every second day at a maximum, I only got three wears out of them) and post the outfits I wore.  The shoes are quite busy so my rule was easy enough to follow: keep it simple up top and let the shoes do the talking...  And here are the shoes:

So! Outfit #1 - I went for an LBD with a grey belt to create a waist:

Outfit #2 I went for kind of a Risky Business look with an oversize white shirt (and a black miniskirt underneath so I wasn't toooo racy!):

And outfit number three - a more casual friday look incorporating some colour:

So the 2011 Emmys were held in the U.S. over the weekend, and there were some GORGEOUS gowns on display:

Julie Bowen from Modern Family looks stunning in a plunging neckline and metallic detailing

Lea Michele from Glee looks fab in red buuutttttt

Nina Dobrev is a little more daring!

Kelly Osbourne, "Fashion Police" cuts a slim figure.

I'm not sold on Claire Dane's dress, but she wears it well...

Aaannnddd just for some eye candy, my fave agent Ari Gold aka Jeremy Piven looks dashingly handsome...

MTV VMAs 2011

Posted by Lauren - PR Coordinator - August 30, 2011 01:47

Another day, another awards night - the VMAs this year are all over the news.  First Adam Levine (Maroon Five singer) hits out at MTV saying that they don't care about music anymore, then Beyonce announces her baby news, ON THE RED CARPET!  Lady Gaga dressed as a man and Katy Perry got changed at least three times... sigh - who doesn't love a good awards night!

Here are some of my fave pics of the evening...

Lady Gaga performed as Jo Calderone, her male alter ego.

Nicki Minaj in a crazy Harajuku inspired ensemble - not quite sure what the Superbass singer is going for here...

This is a super cute Moschino dress, but the shoes go a little too high up the leg for my taste...

I am not sure if these two are still together or not, and it really doesn't bother me either which way, but they both. look. HOT!

Russel Brand's missus rocked a few different looks throughout the night.  Yes that is a yellow cube on her head...

Kim never misses an opportunity to flaunt that derriere...

And this is my fave look of the night - Zoe Saldana of Avatar fame rocked out in Barbara Bui dress and Balenciaga heels.  Amazing snakeskin mixed with leather - one hot look!
